Bienvenidos a la clase de Sra. Feudner. This year we will be learning more grammar and vocabulary to improve speaking, reading and writing in the Spanish language!
We are going to learn many things (Vamos a aprender muchas cosas):
Spanish II - A continuation of what students learned in level 1. We will review all the forms of the present tense and learn the forms of one of the past tenses, the preterite. We will master the use of direct and indirect object pronouns and reflexive verbs. Throughout each unit we will learn new vocabulary.
Spanish III - We will begin the semester with two weeks or review and will then complete Unidad 1 - Unidad 4. Each Unidad will have two sections of vocabulary and several grammar sections. We will be reviewing the preterite tense and learn the other past tense, the imperfect. We will learn all of the command forms and double pronouns (direct and indirect object pronouns). We will master the use of the future and conditional tenses and learn the formation and usage of the present subjunctive.
Spanish IV - This class will be a review of what we learned in Spanish 3 (the present and past tenses and the present subjunctive) and we will learn several new tenses such as the perfects, the imperfect subjunctive and the past progressive.
Spanish V - A complete review of all the grammar you have learned in Spanish 1 - 4 plus a few new concepts such as relative pronouns or the sequence of tenses. We will read several short stories and a novel by famous spanish speaking authors.
My name is Kaila Feudner, but that's "Señora" to you. I have been teaching Spanish to high school students since 1991, when I started at South Milwaukee High School. I graduated from UW - Madison that previous summer with a double major in Spanish and Education. During my junior year, I studied abroad at the University of Sevilla. Over the years I have traveled back to Spain many times with my fantastic Spanish V students. I stopped teaching in 1999 to be a stay-at-home mother, until I started teaching again here at HHS in 2007. Both my son and daughter will soon be Hamilton graduates and maybe love Spanish as much as I do. I hope to instill a passion for the Spanish culture in my students as I was so given in my educational career. I am a strong believer in improving oneself from their mistakes. If any of my students has a problem, I make it a priority that they have the issue resolved. Sí, pero...
